This morning I will learn from my mistake I made yesterday. In the morning madness, I was running around preparing for the day and made Bubby's bottle before I got in the shower. It never fails, everyone is sound asleep when I step in the shower but the second I turn on the water all hell breaks loose. So being prepared as I try to be, I made Bubby's bottle ahead of time and set it on the changing table for me to grab quickly when he got up starving as usual. This particular morning, I actually got to finish my shower unrushed. Once I was ready, I went to the kitchen and Tank met me running from the living room saying "More please!" With my back turned to him, I beamed with pride at the fact that he used his words and asked for more instead of screaming and even used his manners and said please. Then I turned around to see what he wanted more of. Remember that bottle I had prepared in advanced? Yeah, Tank climbed up on the changing table and helped himself. I'm now trying to picture this hefty 2 1/2 year old sitting in front of the tv watching his morning cartoons while enjoying a bottle. Lovely. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal but Bubby has been having some bathroom issues so there was prune juice added to that bottle to help him out. Tank however has NEVER had bathroom issues but was surely going to have the opposite problem later that day since he had now downed the prune juice laced bottle. As I dropped them both off at daycare that morning, I issued the proper warning to their daycare provider that Tank could have some issues that day. But true to form, he saved those issues for me until we got home that night. Needless to say, I had a nice messy package waiting for me in his diaper. Again, lovely. Hence...lessons learned. This morning after I prepared the bottle in advance, I set it high up on the microwave stand when I was done. Although I was merely kidding myself, we all know that Tank can scale a tall wall with no assistance, just like spiderman, if there's something he really wants. But at least for today, the bottle remained safe.
